About Us

Every moment and experience in life makes you what you are today. I wonder where the next 40 years will take me and who I will be when I get there! I have always been a very visual person. Some of my earliest memories revolve around color, objects, and light. My eyes have seen things that take my breath away in amazement and beauty. My eyes have also seen things that will be forever etched in my memory because of pain, sadness, and tragedy. It is a privilege to view it all and even more of a privilege to photograph it. Looking back it is not surprising to me that I have ended up here at this time in my life. My college background centered on art, interior design, and business. I spent a few years in the travel industry before settling down to partner with my Mom in the business she had started; Rainbow Art & Frame, Ltd. This again brought with it more education in color, design, composition, as well as business. On May 1, 2009 I will celebrate my 10 year anniversary as a photographer. Wow, how time has flown. I am glad the days of a floundering new business are over and I am looking forward to celebrating the accomplishments of 10 years in this business. I am confident that I have the best job in the world. My specialty is business and commercial photography and this portion of my business has grown the most rapidly. One day I may be photographing a huge saw blade cutting stone, or the most delectable desert you have ever seen. The next day it could be an architectural photo shoot, or a wedding. It is never boring and never the same thing twice and that is what I like about it. Helping companies and people represent their business and products, preserving the union of a couple so much in love, capturing a rainbow that God created for only a few moments is the most rewarding of careers. I truly believe that “A Picture really is worth a thousand words”. When I am behind my camera I am constantly thinking about what each image will say. Tell me what you would like your images to say……let me tell your story! Julie Hickman
